What makes your salon different from any other?

Our salon began as part of a franchise, which we broke apart from two years ago. We then had the opportunity to expand our service options, to bring in the best product lines available, and to shape the salon’s image according to our vision. We have a dedicated team of professionals with customer service as our primary focus. We know that we’re nothing without our clients, and we value them above all. We also pride ourselves on providing ongoing education from renowned educators in the industry to ensure our stylists’ stay abreast of all the latest trends and styles in hair design. We hope the difference is evident as soon as you walk in the door.

How much should I expect to pay?

Prices vary at Hair Rx depending on the type of service, as well as the length and thickness of your hair. For your convenience we have listed our starting prices on this site. We do; however, recommend for each of our clients to come in for a complimentary consultation to determine exactly which service is right for you, and the cost for your image makeover.

Are you still HairColorXperts or Hair Rx?

Is auburn brown? We are Hair Rx, which is still a part of HairColorXperts, but a completely separate entity. Hair Rx is an independent and privately owned branch of HairColorXperts.

So what is the difference between HairColorXperts and a Hair Rx branch?

Hair Rx is a complete departure from the environment of a corporate hair salon, which provides us the freedom to offer premier service at an accessible price; ensuring top quality products and upscale craftsmanship with an emphasis on customer service. Think of HairColorXperts as a general practice doctor’s office, whereas Hair Rx is an exclusive specialist; offering a case by case analysis of each clients needs and goals. Hair Rx is one of the leaders of top quality hair care in Colorado.

How long should I expect to be there?

Each stylist requires a different amount of time. However, women’s haircuts take approximately 45 minutes-1 hour from start to finish. Men and children’s cuts take approximately 30-45 minutes. Chemical services depend on the service and hair length, but on average clients receiving a chemical service spend approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours in the salon. For a complete extension application, you should arrange to spend at least 5 hours in the salon.

What kind of color do you use?

We use Koleston Perfect, Color Touch, and Magma by Wella for all of our professional color, which includes demi-permanent and permanent hair color. Wella International is a European line originally formulated in Germany. Salon professionals feel Wella offers truer pigment and more coverage. Additionally, Wella adds a tremendous amount of condition and shine. It does contain a minimal amount of ammonia, which individuals with allergies and skin irritations need to be aware of. A simple patch test can be performed prior to a service to determine how your skin will react. Finally, we do offer creative services and men’s color services that require different products from Redken, Paul Mitchell, Sebastian, Special Effects, and American Crew.

Is it really necessary to buy professional products?

Yes, yes, and yes! Professional product is about more than having nice bottles in your shower. Clients will spend upwards of $200 on their color service, go home and use a store bought shampoo, and watch their color fade within days. Professional product is specifically formulated with ingredients to preserve color, while improving the hairs overall health and integrity. Unfortunately, store bought products can’t afford to incorporate essential ingredients, and therefore offer a lesser value.  A few more dollars can save you money in the long run and your hair won’t pay the ultimate price. I’ve had my color done elsewhere, and I don’t like it. Can you help me?

Absolutely! Sometimes a miscommunication between you and a stylist can result in a dissatisfying service. At Hair Rx, we make sure to complete thorough consultations to ensure what you perceive is exactly what your stylist perceives, and you leave with the result you envisioned.

How often will I need to come in for maintenance?

Again, each service requires a different maintenance regime. Hair grows approximately ½ inch per month; therefore, we typically recommend anywhere from 6-8 weeks between color services. Our stylists also recommend a haircut every six weeks to eliminate split ends, which promotes growth.

If I’m unhappy with my service at Hair Rx, what are my options?

Complete customer satisfaction is our primary goal. We do not offer service refunds, but if you’re unhappy with your service all you need to do is let us know. We guarantee our work, and we’ll take whatever steps necessary to make sure you like the final product. We do request a 24-hour notice from the original appointment time.

How long does my hair have to be for extensions?

For hair extensions to look natural, your hair should be at least 4 inches in length. Our method of extensions requires no bonding, but rather titanium beads, which create only minimal breakage. However, the hair needs to be long enough to pull through the beads and lay down.

Can I receive a chemical service if my hair is over-processed or damaged?

If the integrity of your hair has been compromised, we want to remedy that before contributing to the damage. We would recommend a series of protein and conditioning treatments until the condition of your hair improves. Before any chemical service, it is vital to discuss the chemical history of your hair with your stylist so that he/she may determine what lies beneath the top layer of pigment.
